Copper Beetle - Chlaenius tricolor

Copper Beetle - Chlaenius tricolor
Bullitt County, Kentucky, USA
July 23, 2017
Beetle attracted to the light. Fast moving and changeable iridescent colors.

Moved, Chlaenius sp.
Moved from ID Request.

Chlaenius sp. in the subgenus Chlaeniellus
Certainly a ground beetle in the genus Chlaenius subgenus (Chlaeniellus). Looks like something in the nemoralis group.

The shiny pronotum makes this look closest to Chlaenius tricolor, but an examination under the scope would be ideal for a positive ID.

Pretty beetles for sure!
