No, "desert clicker" instead.
This is the "desert clicker" grasshopper, Ligurotettix coquilletti, which is quite a challenge to find, let alone photograph. Nice job!

Eric. I have actually been looking for a Creosote G-hopper and when I found these guys "clicking" away in a Creosote, I thought I had. Good alternative find though - now I can keep looking for Bootettix a. They were cool little hoppers, with "herky jerky" movements, only staying still for a few seconds at a time.
