It was on the back of a poplar leaf surrounded by aphids tended by ants. Can ID be determined? It appears to have a pair of "horns", if that's any clue.

It might be a Chamaemyiidae p
It might be a Chamaemyiidae puparium. That's what it looks like to me. The larvae feed on aphids.
