Sorry, this photo was taken with my phone at work, not an actual camera; therefore the quality is quite poor. This moth was on the wall beside our back door at ~ 1:00 pm. It was not in the slightest bit concerned by my ogling. I've googled photos of moths and wonder if this is a kind of hawk moth. Five years ago I found a larval version of a hawk moth in our backyard, and submitted the photo here where it was properly identified.
