Black weevil - cf Lechriops californica? - Lechriops californicus

Black weevil - cf Lechriops californica? - Lechriops californicus
Modoc National Forest, Forest Road 64 at FR 39N21, Modoc County, California, USA
July 31, 2017
Size: ca 3 mm
Beat from pine tree. Found at the same time as a Lechriops californica specimen (based on prior photos from the same area) and about the same size and structure - maybe a blackened version of that species? I can post images of the normally colored L. californica from today if that would help.

ID confirmed by Henry Hespenheide:
"It pretty much has to be L. californicus. It looks completely abraded. I have a specimen from Oregon that is mostly dark like this one. Note spelling of californicus."

i'll update the gender in the guide. =v=

Moved from Lechriopini.

Thanks -
