Fruit fly - Paroxyna sp.? - Campiglossa clathrata - male - female

Fruit fly - Paroxyna sp.? - Campiglossa clathrata - Male Female
Agoura, Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 29, 2007
Size: 3-4mm
These flies are very common in my yard right now, congregating on Cosmos. I have taken hundreds of pictures, but due to tight depth of field and windy conditions, I have few to post. I believe these to be Paroxyna but the hyaline spot usually in the stigma is either absent or very tiny. Most of the other earmarks seem to be present.
