Psyche casta bag produces 50 larvae - Psyche casta

Psyche casta bag produces 50 larvae - Psyche casta
Fredericton, York County, New Brunswick, Canada
August 2, 2017
Size: 1.5-2mm
I collected a Psyche casta bag (specimen HP-49) on 26 July 2017, hoping that an adult moth would emerge. Instead, about 50 (I counted them) tiny larva in small cases emerged in the container. I opened the original bag but it seemed empty. In the host plant image, the leaf on the lower left was the host.
