Tiny brown insect/larvae - Homalodisca

Tiny brown insect/larvae - Homalodisca
Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 2, 2017
This guy kept coming up to me while we were hanging outside in August. He reminded me of a lady hug larvae but he seemed to be able to fly or maybe he was jumping. He was all Brown and pretty smooth and matte looking. Had six legs and no antenna. He seemed to have white eye like markings on its head. Not sure if they actually are eyes. I noticed him walking and moving side to side and he seemed to be observing me too. He would stop and look at me then sway side to side . I'd love to know what this friendly creature was.
