Specimen identified by DNA analysis:
Some of the BOLD specimens here are said to not match this species 100%, which seems confusing. However, this may be due to the fact that this species is very similar to some others in this genus and is composed of two subspecies. (1)
Hydriomena renunciata renunciata (nominate) Most of the data points are east of the Rocky Mountains.
