I corrected the spelling.
I found a very similar, but considerably smaller individual, at the same location.

I don't know if they are the same thing, but based on size, I thought that the smaller one might be Xanthochroina bicolor and this one might be Xanthochroa californica. I don't have much experience. I am using information that I read here on BugGuide.
