I told my husband it kinda looked like some kinda scorpion... but I am a little confused by its classification-is it a spider or a scorpion? (sorry I don't really know the diffrence)

Is a cow a dog or a cat? ;-) This is in its own order. Bear in mind that Whip Scorpion is just one of its several common names and common names are often based on ignorance.

ahhh ok... I just saw that it was in "Arachnids (Arachnida)"... like I said, I don't really know.... it is the biggest bug I have ever seen in the wild, that was kinda neat. :D

 
Arachnida takes in a lot more than spiders.
