Toad lubber - Phrynotettix tshivavensis - female

Toad lubber - Phrynotettix tshivavensis - Female
Miller Spring, Peloncillo Mountains, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
July 28, 2007
Size: About an inch
There were several individuals of these cryptic grasshoppers nearby including more pinkish individuals.

Just noticed that this one was still waiting for a proper home
Moved from Robust Toad Lubber.

Phrynotettix tshivavensis
Hi, The other species, P. robustus, is not found so far west, so this is an easy one to pin down. Looks like still a nymph.

New page needed
I don't see a guide page for this species, so I placed it in robustus. It's not the greatest image, but appears to be the lone representative on Buggguide so far.
