pink and white moth - Lythrodes venatus

pink and white moth - Lythrodes venatus
house porch, western foothills, Dragoon Mountains, Cochise County, Arizona, USA

Size: 1 cm
ID requested

Moved, Lythrodes venatus
Moved from ID Request. Guide page says this is the larger species, but I think that's an error, based on the spreads at MPG.

Nice one!
Lythrodes. Did you measure the size? You could also try measuring the background (if you can find the spot again).

Yes!
As luck would have it, there is another one out there right now so I measured it and it was 1cm. Will edit that in.

Would be worthwhile to take a photo
Of the other one as well. There are only two images like this in the guide right now. Also, it looks like the size difference is slight. I think this looks more like venatus based on the spreads at MPG, but a more accurate (measured in mm) size would help strengthen the ID.

10mm exactly
accurate but not for the one photographed although the two look identical. Will check if it's still there and take a photo. Addendum: gone but I'll look again tomorrow morning.
