Unusual!
What an interesting species! I didn't realize any Cantharids had these ultra-short elytra. I went to Dillon and Dillon to see how many other Cantharids do, and only one species they picture does.

The ones species they picture is T. latipennis. Of course, Dillon and Dillon don't picture all species. They do include the eastern 2/3rds of Texas in their coverage area.

Anyhow a neat picture, thanks for posting!
