Darkling Beetle - Tarpela micans

Darkling Beetle - Tarpela micans
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
July 16, 2004
This beetle just kept climbing up the tree until it was obscurred by the leaves.

Moved from Tarpela.

Moved from Darkling Beetles.

Tarpela sp.
Wow! The metallic sheen means it can only be a species of Tarpela. T. micans has metallic stripes (truly stunning), but I can't tell from this image if that applies. Really cool beetles, not often seen I don't think.

Tarpela sp.
Thanks for the ID Eric. As always you come through.
