Anthidium manicatum - Beaver Brook Association, Hollis, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA August 22, 2017
This one, very large male was guarding a patch of flowers, even knocking off a male carpenter bee. It was not happy about being caught, giving me a cold silent piercing glare. It continually tried to bite me and stab me with the spikes (claspers?) on its abdomen. During its absence, several females came to nectar on the flowers, and then fled when the male was released.
