Iridescent blue beetle in North Georgia mountains - Dichotomius carolinus

Iridescent blue beetle in North Georgia mountains - Dichotomius carolinus
near Blue Ridge, Georgia, USA
August 20, 2017
Size: 1-2"
Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me identify this beetle. We found it (alive) on the porch of a cabin we rented in the mountains for the weekend.

Moved, Dichotomius carolinus
Moved from ID Request. A giant among dung beetles, and a nice find.
