Paratachys proximus
with D&A's key and a little work, this one comes to
Paratachys proximus
(Say). You can't tell from these photos but it has the "stub" 5th maxiliary palpi of Bembidiini, which appears to differ from Trechus in that way. (Corrections welcome here). I could have measured a little big, but D&A list P. proximus as 2.6-3.1mm. And there's a nice photo
here
that seems to match well. I'll post a photo momentarily that renders the elytra color more accurately.
Although D&A do not specifically list New Jersey in the distro (but NY and DE are), and do list P. oblitus which appears very similar from NJ, after careful review I believe P. proximus is correct.
Another new genus and species for BugGuide :)
