Apio from mouth of Nine-Mile Canyon - Apiocera - female

Apio from mouth of Nine-Mile Canyon - Apiocera - Female
Mouth of Nine-Mile Canyon, northwest of Pearsonville, Inyo County, California, USA
June 20, 2017
This female and a few other female and male apiocerids were seen here at noon, resting on the wet surface of the creek bed (which had only a tepid flow at the time). The ambient temperature was around 111° F. They were presumably staying cool on the damp substrate (and perhaps drinking and feeding as well).

I tried to ID this using the key for females in Cazier(1985). The best I could do was a very tentative A. pearcei.
