Explanation of Names
Zale sp. nr. strigimacula is an undescribed species known to range from Columbia to TX (Schmidt & Lafontaine, per. comm., 8/1/2017). Examples from TX have previously been misidentified as Z. obsita, Z. viridans and in some but not all cases Z. strigimacula. (Z. n. sp. nr. strigimacula is tentatively represented at BOLD in BIN BOLD:ABY4634 under the name Z. Lafontaine15.)
