grasshopper - Psinidia fenestralis - Male Female
Nags Head, Dare County, North Carolina, USA
September 6, 2007
Size: approx. 30 mm.
Mating grasshoppers found on a dune near some grass vegetation. Could they be Seaside Grasshoppers (Trimerotropis maritima)?

Moved

Psinidia fenestralis
Nice pair! Several keys to this one. Big head; side of pronotum angles down at lower rear corner; strong ridges along the edge of the top of the pronotum; narrow tegmina (front wings); antennae thick and flattened. Should have orange wings, but could vary to near yellow or red.

Possibly.
Should be able to ID positively, eventually, as the pronotal crest is well-defined in this image.
