Leptoglossus corculus NJ February - Leptoglossus

Leptoglossus corculus NJ February - Leptoglossus
Highland Park, Middlesex County, New Jersey, USA
February 27, 2012
Size: 17 mm
Found overwintering in a stack of bricks I was moving. Suburban habitat; not many pines nearby, but there are one or two yards with white pines within a block or so. I put it back in a nice crevice after its 15 min of fame.

Moved
Moved from Leaf-footed Pine Seed Bug.

Moving this one back to genus for expert review. The inner and outer tibial dilations are somewhat unequal, but I've recently learned that the outer dilation typically extends considerably further down the tibia in L. corculus.

Are you sure you can rule out occidentalis?
I'm not getting a very good look at the tibial extensions.

I uploaded a couple more images
that show the hind tibia better. I think it is L. corculus, but am happy to stand corrected.

I think you're right.
The second shot clearly shows the unequal lobes of the tibial extensions. Thanks for posting the additional images.
