Gray and orange moth - Diaphania costata

Gray and orange moth - Diaphania costata
Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama, USA
September 5, 2017
Size: 1.5 cm WS
This was a small gray moth with a rusty colored border. The bottom of his wings appeared to be fringed. He had a sleek aerodynamic and plasticky look overall. In some spots on his wings, he almost appeared translucent.

Thank you!

Diaphania costata
It looks like Diaphania costata. But if it is, it seems to be way out of its range, as they are listed as only being found in Texas and Oklahoma. And I can't find a common name associated with this moth.
