Small cuckoo leafcutter bee - Coelioxys modestus - female

Small cuckoo leafcutter bee - Coelioxys modestus - Female
Pleasantville, Westchester County, New York, USA
September 4, 2017
Size: 8 mm
This is the smallest cuckoo leafcutter we’ve seen – barely 8 mm. Is this Coelioxys modestus?

This is a female cuckoo leafcutter, found on goldenrod in a meadow of near woodland. The bee has reddish legs. T-6 is hairy, has a bulbous shape near the base and is divided by a median line. The top half of T-6 is upturned. There are matted hairs along the front rim of T-1. The grooves on T-2 and T-3 are widely interrupted.
