I don't know what kind of size variation these things have, but it's about half the size of some locust borers I saw recently at the same location. Is this just a smaller one with some of it's pattern rubbed off? I was looking in Clytini but I couldn't find anything that was an exact match.

Linsley & Chemsak (1964)(1) give the size range for this species as 11.5-28 mm. The males (11.5-25 mm) are slightly smaller than the females (13-28 mm).
