Tibicen pruinosus - Neotibicen pruinosus - Male
Knoxville, University of Tennessee Campus, Knox County, Tennessee, USA
September 7, 2007
Size: Total length: 53.3 mm
Found dead on University of Tennessee Campus. Total length (including wings) is 53.3 mm, body length (head to abdomen) is 37.7 mm, and forewing length is 44.8 mm. Keyed to species from Michigan Cicada Identification Key. Is this a female? I haven't quite gotten the gestalt of cicada ovipositors and abdominal shapes down yet.

Tibicen pruinosus complex
Typical example of T. pruinosus from much of the upper mid-south west of the Appalachians. It's important to mention, there can be overlap between pruinosus and winnemanna traits across much of the mid-South!
