Larva in an oak leaf gall. - Druon pattoni

Larva in an oak leaf gall. - Druon pattoni
Moncks Corner, Berkekely County, South Carolina, USA
October 13, 2015
Size: Gall is +/- 2.0 mm wide
Larva emerging from an opened gall on the leaf of what may be a Quercus austrina x stellata hybrid. Edge of a damp woodland. I suspect the insect that formed this gall is Andricus pattoni (Cynipidae).
