Antheraea polyphemus
Brazoria County, Texas, USA
September 7, 2007
This guy (or gal) was hanging out on the front porch about 6:00p when I got home from work. Quite a sight and very pretty specimen. I can't identify him, any help?

Beautiful picture! Looks like it could be a Polyphemus Moth...but I'm not certain. It's definately one of the Giant Silk Moths!

Relatively small-fringed antennae -
making this a gal! Guys have very feathery antennae which they use to track down the wonderful fragrances of their girlfriends.
