mayfly - Maccaffertium - female

mayfly - Maccaffertium - Female
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
July 25, 2007

Seems to key to...
Maccaffertium modestum, mediopunctatum, or pulchellum. Of those, modestum and mediopunctatum are listed for MA. I think I would lean toward modestum, but I have no way to be sure.

Narrowing the field down
By looking at the larva that was identified as modestum in a nearby town, that would probably be the best bet. But I'll leave it in the genus for now, just in case it's not modestum.

Thanks Lloyd
Moved from Mayflies.

This is a female Maccaffertium imago. If it were a male, I might make a guess at species, but most females in this group are just too confusing for me.
