Size: 1/3 inch
These fellows suddenly appeared in the house. At first I assumed they were a winged ant, but now it appears it is a type of wasp, but I can't find out what type.

Your pic was moved to Aculeata (Ants, Bees and Stinging Wasps). There are several possible families to which it might belong. With luck, an expert will eventually be able to take the ID further.
