This pretty critter has set up a web in my front garden. The body looks orb-weaver-ish, even if the web looks more like a wadded-up lump than an orb. Best guess from Google is an orchard weaver, but I'd like confirmation because the pattern doesn't quite match the pictures.

EDIT: Thanks for the ID! So that white blobby thing is actually an eggsack?
