Gray Hairstreak? - Strymon melinus

Gray Hairstreak? - Strymon melinus
Norfolk, Virginia, USA
September 8, 2007
The closest match I could find, but I need an opinion from someone more experienced than me!

Thanks,

Scott

I think it's a female Gray Hairstreak
Strymon melinus.

I'm not all that experienced, but based on the pictures i have in my field guide, that's the closest match.

Thank you Nina
I've seen lots of Red Banded Hairstreaks, but this is the first Gray that I have happened upon this year.

Scott

Well...
I doubt that I'm more experienced than you, but I can confirm that it's a Gray Hairstreak... :D

Thanks Andrew
I appreciate the help!

Scott
