Largish, Orange Spider - Neoscona

Largish, Orange Spider - Neoscona
Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
September 10, 2017
I know this isn't the sharpest photo ever but I'm hoping the distinguishing features are clear enough to at least give an idea. The spider is probably 7 to 10 mm in length, not counting the legs. I got no pictures of it's upper side, I'm afraid.

Difficult to give a species ID from a ventral view
Looks to be genus Neoscona, and we would guess at N. crucifera, but that would only be a guess without seeing the dorsal view.
