Neoconocephalus retusus - female

Neoconocephalus retusus - Female
Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 7, 2007
female Round-tipped Conehead found in a cultivar of Panicum virgatum after it was watered. Before watering, I had been literally inches away from this sizable lady while I was cutting some tattered foliage out. I never even saw her, which is surprising because I was not being overly gentle when working with the plant. Her camo is exceptional!
