Size
Wingspan 20-26 mm.
Identification
Adult: forewing reddish-brown to grayish in male, shiny dark brownish-maroon to blackish in female; large dark spot on costa, and angled PM and ST lines in both sexes; ST line dotted black in male, dotted white in female; hindwing grayish-brown, darker in female than in male

Range
Galgula partita occurs in most of North America but missing from Canadian prairie provinces.
Occurs south to Guatemala and islands of the Caribbean.
Season
The adults fly from March to November in the south; May to September in the north.
Food
The larvae feed on Oxalis sp. (wood sorrel). (2)
Life Cycle
Several generations per year.
