Steatoda? with different pattern - female

Steatoda? with different pattern - Female
Overfelt Gardens Park, Santa Clara County, California, USA
August 24, 2017
This spider does not have the light band on the anterior end of the abdomen, and the pattern is different from others I've seen--is this just a variation of S. grossa? It was on an oak that also had old moth cocoons and a trail of Argentine ants, which is why I didn't get closer. The park is urban, surrounded by city--though surprisingly, a Bolas spider was also found in this park recently.
