Oxyelophila callista from Comal County, TX - Oxyelophila callista

Oxyelophila callista from Comal County, TX - Oxyelophila callista
New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas, USA
September 20, 2017
Spotted this Oxyelophila callista at Landa Park with Ben Hutchins and fellow TPWD staff. I think that Comal County is a new location for this species.

Type locale.
The species was originally described in 1917 by Forbes from specimens collected at New Braunfels, TX. See:

Solis, M. Alma, et al. 2018. Aquatic Larvae of Two Acentropines, Usingeriessa onyxalis and Oxylophila callista... Proc. Entom. Soc. Wash. 120(1):180-195.

Thanks, Chuck - New Braunfels likely looked a bit different then, but it's good to see that the moth is still present!
