Weird larva on swamp milkweed 3.5

Weird larva on swamp milkweed 3.5" long
Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, USA
September 20, 2017
Size: 3.5" long
I think this is the adult of the weird larva. A walkiingstick!

Moved
Walkingsticks undergo hemimetabolous development, so a young walkingstick would look just like an adult except tinier. Your weird larva is a caterpillar of some sort but I'm afraid I don't know enough to get you further there.
