When first spotted this wasp was in a weird position with its abdomen held upright, nearly vertically, from the surface it was on, the leaf of common milkweed.

In his description of A. flaveolatum, Gravenhorst mentioned a smooth fore coxa without a transverse carina, along with a few other features that cannot be seen in these images.
