James Bay, Ontario, Canada
August 28, 2017
Size: ~12mm long
I'm thinking this is possibly a flesh fly? It fairly large, has a grey thorax with stripes (although more than 3 stripes, I'm not sure if this is feature is variable or not) and the bottom of the abdomen has a checkered appearance. But it doesn't have the bright end of the thorax and it's body is not very stalky.
