Large dragonfly

Large dragonfly
Oxford, ME, Oxford, County, Maine, USA
October 1, 2017
Size: About 2 or 3 inches long
I think it is a blue eyed darner but it seems to be awfully far from their range and the eyes were more green than blue. Seen next to a marshy stream.

Male Aeshna umbrosa
Male Shadow Darner. Only 2 species of Darners in Maine have the flat cerci shown here. Those are Shadow and Lance-tipped. Lance-tipped would have larger spots on the abdomen rather than more dash-like spots.
