Robber Fly - Promachus - Female
Ramsey Canyon Preserve, Cochise County, Arizona, USA

Size: 1 inch + or -
I observed a fairly large robber fly next to the creek, just above the Ramsey Canyon Preserve Visitor Center. It, so far, is the largest robber fly species that I have seen. I took the photo of the robber fly as it was perched vertically on the rock surface but I felt that the image was more presentable from a horizontal position so changed the format of the image to reflect that.
