Abstract

Distributional information is presented for Megaderus bifasciatus Dupont, 1836, a rare species of longhorned beetle in the cerambycid tribe Trachyderini. Valid occurrence records from Mexico and Central America are listed, and enigmatic historical records for the southwestern United States are examined to attempt to determine their veracity. An inventory of specimens found in museum collections is documented. The records for Texas and Arizona are examined, and the likelihood that the species is, or ever was, present in the United States is discussed.

Abstract

Dere thoracica White, a cerambycine longhorned beetle native to eastern Asia, is newly reported from Georgia, USA, where an established population was detected. A single female was collected in a flight intercept trap in Clarke County during early 2020, and 292 adults were excavated from their pupal chambers or reared from dead branches of mimosa tree, Albizia julibrissin Durazz.

Eya, B. K. 2019. Revision of the genus Deltaspis Audinet-Serville, 1834 with systematic analysis and new taxa of Trachyderini with emarginate-truncate mandibles (Insecta: Coleoptera: Cerambycidae). Zootaxa 4713(1):1-62.

Affects both species of Deltaspis known from North American North of Mexico. Deltaspis tumacacorii is transferred into Muscidora Thomson, 1864. Deltaspis ivae is transferred into Neoxoplus, new genus. An amendment to Linsley's (1962) Crossidus key is also included.

A number of other new combinations and descriptions of new species from Mexico are provided as well as a description for an additional new genus, Deltaspiopsis.

Abstract

The genera Deltaspis Audinet-Serville, 1834 and Muscidora, Thomson, 1864 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Cerambycinae: Trachyderini) are revised. Two new genera Neoxoplus gen. nov. and Deltaspiopsis gen. nov., are described. Two species previously included in Deltaspis [D.
