giant swallowtail caterpillar - papilio cresphontes - Papilio cresphontes

giant swallowtail caterpillar - papilio cresphontes - Papilio cresphontes
Lindsborg KS, McPherson County, Kansas, USA
September 11, 2007
I am 99% sure this is a giant swallowtail. I don't think the guide has a thaos to compare it to. I was going to submit these to recent but for the life of me could not find an "ad image" link. Sorry.

Images of this individual: tag all

Orange Dog
You are correct on your ID -- nice photos, especially this one clearly showing the head, which is often hidden.

The "recent" page shows all images recently added to any page in the guide, including ID request. If you would like to post this to the species page for Papilio cresphontes, navigate to that page, open up the "images" tab, and click add images. Since you have already added these, if you would like to move them to the species page, simply "tag" all three images (there is a "tag all" link above the thumbnails) and then go to the images tab of the Giant Swallowtail page and click "move tagged images."

thanks for the help Bobby
Thanks Bobby for the help in moving, you made it seem way too easy.

Add Image Question
Were you trying to add your image directly to Giant Swallowtail http://bugguide.net/node/view/3253/bgimage and then they would also appear in "Recent" as does any new image?

BTW - I have no idea on the correctness of your ID.

thanks John
Thanks John for the link, that made it easy.
