Phaneroptera nana - male

Phaneroptera nana - Male
Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
October 8, 2017
Three of these were posted this summer from Cambridge on iNaturalist. Thinking it would be good to get specimens, I contacted Mark Rosenstein, who had submitted two of the three MA observations on iNat. He told me he'd keep an eye out for any others. As luck would have it, the very next night one showed up at his yard blacklight, so I trekked over to Cambridge to pick up the little katydid. Thanks Mark!

Apparently these are established in the Boston area now, and I suspect their origin is NYC, where there is a larger introduced population.

The same individual on iNat can be found here
