small black wasp - Auplopus carbonarius - Female
Brossard, Quebec, Canada
September 14, 2007
Size: 1cm
A small black wasp that has been near the house for quite some time. This one came indoors so I chilled it to photograph- hence it being hunched up- before letting it back out again.

It may be the same as that I found earlier in the year in almost the same place, and is about the same size and general appearance?

Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Pompilidae.
Yes, I suspect it is a specimen of Phanagenia, but do wait for Nick Fensler to comment. Aside, 1 cm is not "small," as many spider wasps are quite tiny:-)
