Diplazon - Diplazon laetatorius

Diplazon - Diplazon laetatorius
Slaughter Beach, Sussex County, Delaware, USA
October 6, 2017
I assume this is Diplazon laetatorius but would appreciate confirmation/correction of the ID. If that ID is correct, there weren't many syrphids around whose larvae could serve as hosts
TIA

Moved
Moved from Ichneumon Wasps.

Yes - a femaleā€¦
Keep in mind that female parasitoids are not always out seeking hosts - they also require energy in the form of sugars to keep going.

See reference here.

thanks
this one was exploring a plant with no flowers. Although there were many wasps of various types on the nearby flowers, I didn't find any other wasps in this genus over the course of a week
