I am fairly certain this is Panthea virginarius with eggs... - Panthea
Wolf Creek, Josephine County, Oregon, USA
September 2, 2017
they began to spin the day after my last entry..I was not sure how they would pupate so i placed one in a pot of dirt where it ran around and around..being given a couple leaves it went under and quickly began to spin..so now i knew what they needed..i kept tabs on that one and he made the cocoon very quickly and untidily..after that i grabbed handfulls of stuff off the floor under fir trees and madrone and tossed that into the pot and put all of them in as they left the food.
