Not Veromessor
Shorter wings and scapes, 12 segmented antennae, bidentate petiolar dorsum lead me to Solenopsis.

Thank you for moving this into ants. I saw the nodes on the petiole, but the antennae did not look ant-like. Based on your comment, I'm editing the title to call this Veromessor pergandei, which is very common in that area. Thanks again!
