in West Texas?
Are we sure of the species ID? We thought egle would only be found in east Texas and farther east

Sorry - should be Elegant Tus
Sorry - should be Elegant Tussock Moth, Euchaetes elegans, I think.

Euchaetes elegans versus E zella?
Is it possible this could be E zella? It was feeding on a small-leaved milkweed vine - either Funastrum hartwegii or Funastrum cynanchoides - in the Chisos Basin at 5400ft. We have photographed adult E zella in the Basin Amphitheater in August.

We haven't been able to locate any photos of E zella caterpillars.
